Burlap Coffee Sacks...Rock

I am finding out that burlap coffee sacks...ROCK!!! Every time, I make something with them for my booths, they fly right out the door. I have used them to cover chair seats, made pillows with them and have framed them in large frames as artwork. I love making things that I like to have in my own home..it's a lot more fun that way. Let's just take a little survey here today. Do you own anything that involves burlap coffee sacks?
                                         Blessings,
                                            Linda

I hadn't heard of these until I started blogging last year. I am not sure if they are such a 'big' thing over here, I haven't seen any evidence of them in shops. I do like the look of them though. I particularly like your seat covers.

I do not own anything made of burlap or "coffee sacks". But I love everything I see on here and on blogland in general. LOVE it, the chair, the pillow and the art work. Very cool.

I love them, especially the framed coffee sack! I would love to make one but I'm not sure where I could find coffee sacks in melbourne. Xx

I have a big framed one on the top of the stairs. I love it on that chair! It makes a cute accent. I don't think I would like it on a larger chair that is used a lot. Since we're in shorts most of the time I think it would be itchy!

I love the chair and the pillow is a nice accent piece. Very clever and great job!!

I do not own anything now, but would love to have something made from a burlap coffee sack. They are so unique and have so much character!

I don't have any burlap--but wouldn't mind if the opportunity presented itself.

I love the burlap with the blue stripe- I haven't seen coffee sacks with such pretty color. I don't have anything burlap in my home and always wonder where people find the coffee sacks.

OMG Linda I LOVE that chair!! I don't have any burlap coffee sacks but I have plenty of plain burlap, love that stuff!

I have a couple burlap coffee sack pillows in my booth at the shop and am in the process of upholstering a setee with some as we speak. Here in the NW there are a lot of coffee roasters around. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a source while buying a craigslist chair; turns out he is the coffee roaster for Fred Meyer/Kroger. Needless to say, score! I am buying them by the case now. Thanks for sharing!

All of your projects are just gorgeous. I received my first order of coffee sacks last week, but not one as pretty as yours with the pretty turquoise strip. So far I've covered a few chairs and made a memo board with them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful things! Robin

No, but I'd sure love to! I love what you did with yours, especially the framed one. Where do you get them? Or that may be a shop secret. I was wondering if they were readily available or if you have to kind of hunt for them.

I love burlap too. That chair is gorgeous!

Don't have any burlap-sacked furniture or decor, I'm now sorry to report. Great idea!

They're gorgeous, but rare to find in the UK. I have fallen in love with them, since seeing them all over blogland. How clever that you have covered them yourself - SO inspiring. Delighted to have found your blog. x

ADORABLE!!! You've got some great graphics on your coffee sacks. Love that stripe! Makes me think I may need to paint one on some of the bags I have! :) So far I haven't kept anything I've made with coffee sacks. I need to 'cause I love them!

I do love burlap bags myself, or anything burlap for that matter.
I have 4-5 bags that I just lay over doorways in my home. JoAnn's Fabric store sells rolls of burlap, approx 5-6 wide (in floral dept)that I used as garland on holiday tree and large bows on antique sleigh, etc. I am sure the possibilities are endless. If anything you can use this as decoration for your shop!!
Just a few thoughts.

Hi. Great chair. I also like the framed black type. If you're interested in a project I recently did w/ coffee sacks, head over to my blog. and scroll down the a recent post called "Ottoman." I know, not a very creative title but I wasn't feeling very creative that day. Thanks!

Hi, Linda!!
A friend and I did a basic upholstery class this year and she chose burlap for our projects! We covered two chairs and they both turned out beautiful! She gave me the leftovers and I made a wreath t put on my door, too!
Also I bought 4 coffee sacks at the Habitat for Humanity store, for $1 each!!! I love your frame!!!

Liz @ Quirky Vistas said...

I can never find any around here! I have an old step stool type chair that I got for $1.00 and I'd love to redo the seat with that or a sugar or flour sack. The search continues. Thanks for posting these beauties. They remind me to keep my hopes up!
